Foreign ship docked with 470 reconditioned cars at Mongla Port

In a boost to port logistics in the supply chain, the foreign vessel M.V. Viking Drive, flagged under the Republic of the Marshall Islands, arrived at Mongla Port on Monday afternoon carrying 470 reconditioned vehicles from Japan. The 164-metre-long ship docked at Jetty No. 9 and began unloading a diverse range of vehicles including Toyota Axio, Allion, Corolla Cross, and Fielder models. According to Md Makruzzaman, Deputy Secretary (Public Relations) of the Mongla Port Authority (MPA), unloading of the vehicles is expected to be completed by Tuesday evening. This marks another step forward for shipping ports and freight handling in Bangladesh, particularly as Mongla Port increasingly becomes a preferred hub for vehicle imports. The consignment was imported by Crown Navigation Shipping Agent, highlighting Mongla's growing role in regional smart port and supply chain infrastructure.
